Stinky hands
For several days now, as I am holding James I smell a stinky smell. Not bad enough to make me throw up, but enough that I can smell it. I sit and wonder what it is. It is kind of a familiar smell, but can't put my finger on it (hahahah...no pun intended, because I am talking about hands...hahah) . So, tonight as I was holding him, I smelled it again, and took his hand and realized that it was the hand. How did it get stinky...then I recognized it. It smells like stinky feet. Why does James hand smell like stinky feet? Because I put socks on them all the time, to keep them warm, and so he doesn't scratch himself. It made me think that feet don't stink because they are feet, which I have always thought that is why. If you know me, you know I don't like feet, so any reason not to like them, I find it. so, the moral of the story is: whether hands, feet, or entire body, you keep them covered all the time, and it will start stinking. So, don't wear clothes...lol!

My kids hands smelled like that too, a rotten flesh smell? They would keep their hands closed and not open them so their skin would get flaky and all moist like it was rotting. It is very gross.
I'm just glad that I'm not the only person in the world who keeps their child's hands covered until their three months old...LOL!
lol! i remember that time too, mel! how funny. yeah, ahonui had real stinky hands because i only had socks to prevent him from scratching himself. plus, with his colic he always had his fists clenched. not a pretty smell at all.
Ok, so that's all part of it? Keeping the hands clenched? The other day he had "finger jam" and I pulled it out and it stunk so bad. I thought it was coming from the socks, but good to know.
Yeah, it must be the "jam." Ew. Socks should absorb the moisture and keep feet not stinky; that's why slippers are always so stinky. Barf.
Oh, that's funny! I never would have thought of that. We were neglectful parents and didn't even think to keep Simon from scratching himself by putting socks on his hands.
And clothes in general are just such a hassle anyway. Why bother?
