Nathan

Nathan Lofi was born 12/2 weighing 9 lbs 8 oz, 20 1/2 inches long. It was quite a wild ride for us. We got to the hospital around 5 am, after having contractions since 1 the afternoon before. I wanted to wait as long as I could for the epidural, since that slows down the labor and James was so long I wanted to have this one go faster. The nurses advised against it, but I wanted to hang on as long as I could. The nurse said the Dr would come in and break my water and I said I would do the epidural after that. The Dr. came in around 9. I was at a 7, when he broke the water, I went to a 9 and the baby dropped and the cord wrapped around his neck. The Dr. worked and worked to get the cord away from his neck but had no luck so he jumped on my bed with his hand keeping the cord from strangling my baby and they wheeled me to the OR for an emergency c section. Here I am, no epidural and laying flat on my back. I was in such pain. They put me on the operating table and they started to give me a general, when he was able to get the cord away from the neck. They say this is a miracle. This was the first time he was able to feel a cord around a babies neck, and even more rare for the cord to be able to be removed. So, luckily, I did not have to have a c-section. They tried to deliver me right then, but after the cord was removed, the baby moved back and I went back down to a 7. Weird. So, I ended up delivering him at 1:30 that afternoon. Labor stinks. They say that after the first baby, labor is about half the time. Not in my case, it was a bit longer. What's the deal!
Anyway, here is my baby:

What the...

I think I want to change the name of my blog to "What the...??!?!" Why do people do stupid things? So, its January 2, 2010. Aho and I are driving on the freeway on the way to Provo from Layton, and we see two guys in a convertable with the top down. WHAT THE...??? Are you kidding me? They weren't even bundled up. I don't care if they were out for a test drive. It's January. The coldest month of the year in Utah, going 70 mph on the freeway. I have to guess their nose hairs were frozen.

Valentines, really?

I was in shopko the other day getting diapers for my boys (that's right, boys). I decided to walk down the candy aisle, as I can't let Christmas pass without having mint M&M's. So, I find the aisle, and walk down. There wasn't a lot of candy, and I looked all over for the M&M's, not there, and a few other things I wanted, not there. So, as I stood there looking at everything, I realized this is Valentine's candy. What? I understand Halloween coming out in August. There aren't any holidays between the fourth of July and Halloween. Christmas I get because it's Christmas. But, Valentines out before Christmas is over? Are we really starting to overlook Christmas for Valentines candy?
You are probably wondering why this is what I blog about after being out for 9 months. I have had so much happen since the last blog. I will blog about that later. I think the real reason I like to blog to for all the "what the $%^#$" things out there.
Amanda, I can't believe you went private and didn't invite me. Yes, it took me this long to log in and figure it out, and no one will probably read this, but still!

James and the giant bears

Ok, first of all, will that title James and the giant... ever get tiring, I think not.
As most of you know, James attends a daycare every day. In the daycare, there is also a preschool, and they often go on field trips. Yesterday they went to the Bean Museum, which is could also be called the Taxidermy of Wild Animals museum. James has been there a few times before, and really loves it. He is in to animals these days. But, really, who couldn't go for a giant stuffed kodiak bear from Alaska. It is jaw dropping when you see how large it is. Anyway, that's beside the point. While there, Sheri, the babysitter was able to take a video of him grunting at the bears (not the kodiak bear). I am glad someone is able to video my child, since Aho and I never do. Are we bad parents?

Cupcakes

The other day I was watching TV surprise, surprise) and I saw a commercial for Cold Stone. What are these new cupcakes they are advertising?!?! When did they come about, and how did I not know about it. I think James and I will have to go there tonight while Aho is working.

What is this new craze with cupcakes? In the BYU Daily Universe (campus newspaper) their cover story was about the cupcake craze. I don't get it. Never been a fan if cake, so why cupcakes. There is even a website devoted to Utahns that love cupcakes. Odd! With the exception of cold stone cupcakes, I don't think I will jump on the cupcake train anytime soon. (But all this talk really makes me want one. Cold stone, here I come!)

I'm bad at blogging

So, I'm bad at blogging, it's no secret. Why? I don't know. I don't want to take the time? I feel like I have nothing to blog about? Aho always tells me, "you need to post a picture." I said to him, "we don't take pictures, how can I post pictures we don't have." So, that makes me think, I need to take more pictures of James. Doing what? Going to daycare? Getting ready for bed? Those are the only times of the day I see him. What's picture worthy about that?
So, an update on us. Since we have been back from Tonga one of us has been sick. Can't wait for the warmer weather! It will fix our health and the mold in our apartment will go away. Needless to say, I will spend all summer looking for a new place that won't have mold growing. Now, I do have a picture of that, which I may post later. So, that's all that's going on with us.
I did decide I needed to change my background to St. Pat's. I will do it again in a month to Easter. That's probably the best blogging I can do. The other thing is, I can't get my picture centered in my header. Any ideas? And, does anybody know how to add my own fonts. These fonts are boring. (Like I care, I never look at my own blog!)
